Walking out of DCA after seeing the 60th Celebration World of Color show, I was struck by the light here. I've passed this scene hundreds of times, but for some reason I wanted to snap a picture. I didn't have a tripod, but fortunately I was shooting with my trusty EF24-105 f/4L with built in IS, which allowed me to shoot this at 1/8 and have it come out like I wanted. Now this shot just might be my favorite, it looks like a painting.
I love Tomorrowland. I was a little nerd growing up, and so Tomorrowland was a dream come true every time we went. The sort of science fiction-y feel of the place; the cool attractions in, what is now, the Innovations building, and was the Carousel of Progress, the People Mover and of course Space Mountain. Then Star Tours opened and I was literally in heaven. Even today, I'll go eat here just to be sitting in Disneyland, and hear music from Star Wars playing over the plaza; I'm getting goosebumps now just thinking about it. I wanted to capture some part of this scene that would remind me of my youth and following the people mover tracker, pointing back to Star Tours, was perfect. I've got this printed on metal and hanging in a place of honor in my office, it brings back so many happy memories and I'm looking forward to convincing my daughters how awesome this part of Disneyland is.
